| How to Chop an Onion |
1.) Using a sharp knife, slice off
the end that has the little stem.
(Not the end with the thin straws)
2.) Lay the onion flat on the
sliced end and cut in half right
through the spot with the thin
straws.
3.) Peel off the outer paper layer
on one half of the onion.
4.) Cut the half horizontally
three to four times from the
bottom up, making sure not to cut
through the end with the thin
straws.
5.) Cut the half vertically, making
several cuts close together.
Again, do not cut through the end
with the thin straws.
6.) Finally, begin cutting
vertically, starting at the flat
end of the onion. Now you have
chopped onion!
The closer the cuts, the
finer the chopped onion. |
