Blind Baking


Blind baking refers to baking a piecrust shell without any filling in it.

Preheat the oven to 350º . Roll out dough and place in pie dish. Cover piecrust with aluminum foil (keep edges uncovered if the crust will not be baked again, cover the edges of the crust if it will be baked again.)

The piecrust must be weighed down or it will puff up. Pie weights, dried rice or dried beans may be used.

Bake for 10-15 minutes
