1 c. (2 sticks) butter - melted
2 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

1 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
colored sprinkles

butter and flour for greasing pan

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease an 11 by 13 inch pan with butter then flour. In a medium bowl mix together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt and set aside. In a large bowl, stir together the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs and beat well with hand mixer or whisk. Add the dry ingredients you have set aside to the butter/sugar/vanilla/egg mixture. Stir all of the ingredients until mixed (do NOT over beat). Spread batter into pan and bake for 20–25 minutes. The brownies should pull away from the edges of the pan and/or a toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack. Prepare frosting and spread over brownies. Now you can decorate with colored sprinkles if you wish!
