Green Beans with Toasted Almonds
1/3 lb. gourmet French beans or green beans
1/2 c. toasted slivered almonds
1 tsp. olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Toast almonds by placing in a toaster oven at 375° for about 8 minutes.

Place water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add a dash of salt and then the trimmed beans. After the water begins to boil again, wait 30 seconds and remove from heat and drain. Put cooked beans in a bowl and add the oil, almonds, and season with salt and pepper. Mix and serve warm.
