Dear Libraries:
Have you been looking for a fun and educational program for
students ages 9 - 14?
I am a cookbook author who published a cookbook specifically
designed for this age group called You're the Cook! A guide
to mixing it up in the kitchen and over the past year I have
been traveling to various libraries with a hands-on cooking
program (no kitchen required!) which has received rave reviews!
I would like to offer this program to your library and am
scheduling classes for winter and spring. Here is a description
of the program:
Tween Cooking Class
with
Katie Wilton

Time (1 1/2 hours)
For 9 - 14 year olds (limit 15)
Join Katie for a hands-on cooking class where students will
make recipes from her cookbook "You're the Cook!"
including Deviled Eggs, Pizza Wontons, Parmesan Pita Triangles,
Yogurt Fruit Shakes and Cream Cheese Filled Strawberries.
Participants will sample all of the food and will have the
opportunity to purchase a signed copy of her cookbook.
I bring all of the culinary supplies, food and paper products
for the cooking class. All I need is some space, tables and
at least 2 electrical outlets. The cost of the program:
$200 for libraries within a 30 minute drive from Middleton,

$240 for libraries 1 - 1 1/2 hours hour away

Discounts are available when two libraries in close proximity
double book on the same day. Applies only to rates over $200.
Feel free to check out my website www.cookingwithkatie.com
to learn more about my mission to teach middle school students
how to cook.
Scheduling Program
The cooking class is 11/2 hours. Katie is available during
the week after school, on weekends or on holidays or on early
release days. It is recommended that you speak with a few
students about sport and music practice schedules to choose
the best date and time for the program.
